Hold the front page, there’s a new Chinese electric vehicle (EV) on the way, and it has its sights set on the family SUV class. The Leapmotor B10 continues a trend of exceptional value and loads of equipment from the Stellantis-backed EV manufacturer, with a price tag of just £29,995 when it arrives in quarter four of 2025 – handily undercutting key rivals.

This is Leapmotor’s third model since its UK launch earlier this year and it’ll slot in between the tiny T03 city car and full-size C10 SUV. The B10 will also be joined by the Leapmotor B05 hatchback set to launch in early 2026. The brand clearly isn’t mucking about.

Well, the only optional extra for the B10 is for the paint, everything else is included as standard on the one trim level.

There’s a lot of equipment to cover, starting with a huge 14.6-inch 2.5K HD infotainment screen, paired with an 8.8-inch driver’s display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, as is a wireless smartphone charger.

The bells and whistles continue, with heated and ventilated front seats, a huge panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, vehicle-to-load (V2L), and a 360-degree camera – again all as standard.

There are 17 driver assistance systems included too, including measures to prevent front, rear and parking collisions. There’s adaptive cruise control to keep everything steady while on the move and ‘Traffic Jam Assist’ to assist when reduced to a crawl.  

As there’s only one model variant, there’s just the one powertrain available. It’s a 67.1kWh battery pack partnered to a 216bhp electric motor that drives the rear wheels. The top speed is 108mph and 0-62mph takes 8 seconds.   

The WLTP driving range is 270 miles, and it the B10 supports a maximum charging speed of 168kW, good for a 30-80% fast charge in 20 minutes.  

The motor is oil-cooled for increased efficiency and smoothness, and Leapmotor claim the unit is 94% efficient.

Beyond the toys and driving range, the electric family SUV segment is packed with strong competition, and the B10 will need to prove to be versatile and practical to be a viable option.

First impressions paint to the B10 being a generously proportioned car. It’s 4,515mm long, which is 45mm longer than a Renault Scenic E-Tech. It’s also wider (1,885mm to the Renault’s 1,864mm) and taller for good measure (1,655mm to 1572mm).

The boot is an acceptable, but not class-leading 430 litres, but bolstered by a 25-litre frunk. The boot extends to 1,700 litres with the rear seats folded flat, while 22 storage nooks are dotted around the interior. The front seats even fold flat, turning the B10 into an impromptu bed. 

Leapmotor confirmed it is aiming for a full five-star Euro NCAP score, the same score achieved by the larger Leapmotor C10.

The Leapmotor B10 launches with Leapmotor’s £1,500 EV grant applied, which means it’ll cost private buyers just £29,995, handsomely undercutting the likes of the Skoda Elroq, Omoda E5, and Renault Scenic E-Tech. Company car drivers will have to pay the full £31,495, but even this increased price undercuts all the cars above.

Leapmotor was the first manufacturer to launch its own EV grant called the LEAP-GRANT, and the brand confirmed it would be extending the grant for the duration of 2026. There are two grades of LEAP-GRANT available, the £1,500 applied to the T03 and B10, and the £3,750 applied to the larger C10, bringing its price down to £32,750.
