The IndyCar 2026 driver market is finally settling after last week’s confirmation that Rinus VeeKay will race for Juncos Hollinger Racing. This signing closes one of the last open seats, with the field expected to consist of 25 to 27 cars.

Teams like Andretti Global, Team Penske, Chip Ganassi Racing, and Arrow McLaren have their driver lineups nearly finalized. Colton Herta will sit out the 2026 IndyCar season to race in Formula 2, freeing up a spot filled by Will Power’s move to Andretti. Newcomers such as Dennis Hauger and David Malukas are set for full-time rides with Dale Coyne Racing and AJ Foyt Racing, respectively.

Meyer Shank Racing, Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, and Dreyer Reinbold Racing are among other teams confirming veterans and rookies, while numerous Indy NXT graduates position themselves for upcoming IndyCar debuts.

The final grid size depends on last-minute announcements on part-time entries and Indy 500-only participants. But with most full-time seats now claimed, the hotbeds of driver negotiation have dwindled.

Fans can expect a diverse lineup mixing seasoned champions, rising stars, and young talents climbing through the ranks all converging for one of the most competitive and compelling IndyCar seasons in recent memory.
