► ‘Fully analogue’ hypercar revealed
► Designed by Bugatti and Rimac alum
► Extreme power, self-shifting and carbon monocoque
This is the GP1 – a new hypercar from Garagisti & Co that’s described as a ‘fully analogue’ supercar.
Garagisti’s recipe sounds tasty: a naturally-aspirated V12, manual transmission, carbonfibre chassis for a low kerbweight and visually dramatic looks.
The GP1 has been penned by Angel Guerra, who’s worked on the Bugatti Bolide, Mistral and Tourbillon as well as the Rimac Nevera. As well as a dramatic exterior, the interior brief from Guerra was: ‘no oversized screens. No unnecessary gimmicks. Just you, the machine, and the road ahead.’
Built into the carbonfibre monocoque architecture is a 6.6-litre V12 that revs to 9000rpm and generates 789bhp, as well as 516lb ft. The GP1’s engine is mated to an Xtrac six-speed manual. It also features Brembo brakes and Öhlins dampers. Garagisti claims a 1000kg dry weight, and promises that the GP1 is ‘brutally fast.’
The GP1’s brief, then, has shades of Gordon Murray’s T.50 (albeit without the central driver’s seat), as well as more retro cars like the Eccentrica’s remastered Diablo. Keep it clean, simple and functional.
Just 25 are being made at £2.45m (plus local taxes) a pop, with each future owner being walked through a commissioning process in the UK.
