► New, one-off Ferrari revealed
► HC25 is based on F8 Spider
► Could this be the last non-electrified V8 Ferrari?

Ferrari has unveiled the HC25 at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas. It’s the latest one-off supercar designed under the supervision of Flavio Manzoni as part of the Special Projects programme.

Built to the wishes of a single client, the HC25 features unique styling elements and refined proportions. It shares the same chassis and powertrain as the last open-top mid-rear engined non-hybrid turbo V8, F8 Spider. Power is delivered to the rear wheels using a 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 710bhp and 568lb ft.

It’s the same great recipe, but with a different flavour thanks to notable styling features such as the three‑dimensional central band that aims to visually separate the front and rear end. This isn’t just for looks, however, as it incorporates air intakes to cool the engine in the shape of an arrow on either side of the car to suggest forward movement and result in a visually dynamic design. Even the door handle is incorporated into a blade milled from solid aluminium.

The headlights are unique to the HC25, taking the form of a slim lens with a single indentation in the middle of each light and complementing the rear taillights. The daytime running lights are arranged vertically – a first for Ferrari – along the front wings in a boomerang shape.

The HC25 follows contrasting styling cues throughout; with the matt Moonlight Grey paint decorated with glossy black features. Look around the car and you’ll see yellow brake callipers to match the Ferrari logos. That theming continues inside with yellow accents on the seats, doors, and stitching on the dashboard. The slim alloy wheels feature five dark spokes and a diamond-finished surface to further enhance the contrast.

All this is courtesy of the Special Projects programme which typically spends two years with the client to create this one-of-a-kind supercar. You may remember when Ferrari unveiled the Ferrari SP-8; itself, another one-off roadster based on the F8 Spider. An idea is put forward by a client, which is then sketched and manufactured before the client approves.

Ferrari defines the HC25 as a bridge between the mid‑rear‑engined V8 platform and more recent flagships models such as the Ferrari 12Cilindri and F80. A tribute to the turbo V8 Ferraris of the last decade. The reality is that it feels a little more like a eulogy than a celebration.
