The Isle of Man TT organisers have shared a new schedule for this year's event after the sidecar races were cancelled following a serious incident.

On Thursday, organisers immediately suspended the class due to "an immediate technical and operational review to assess the circumstances" of the red flag crash involving pre-race favourites Callum and Ryan Crowe during Wednesday night's qualifying session.

The pair escaped with fractures after their outfit flipped on Crosby jump amid high, gusting wind conditions around the Mountain circuit, in circumstances very similar to a crash last year for their fellow podium contenders Peter Founds and passenger Jevan Walmsley during qualifying at Rhencullen jump.

But concerns about competitor and spectator safety prompted the withdrawal of the class, with all sidecar competitors and teams "briefed by race officials on the outcome of the initial review and the next stages of the assessment process".

This has prompted a reshuffle of the schedule for the remaining day of practice week on Friday, and the racing plans from Saturday onwards.

Friday's schedule was set to feature two sidecar qualifying sessions - at 11:25 and 14:20 - before the first race, of three laps, on Saturday at 13:30.

This would have been followed by a shakedown lap on Tuesday at 13:30, before the second three-lap race on Wednesday at 10:45.

Instead, the four solo classes have been given extended qualifying time on Friday, and the Wednesday Superstock race has been brought forward into the sidecars' old slot.
