GM has a long tradition of wild concepts, but this new Hummer stands out because it wasn't penned by a veteran designer. An intern sketched the lines and shaped the profile. The end result looks every bit a Hummer—stout, boxy and ready to climb rocks.
The concept sits high with oversize tires and chunky fenders. Its short overhangs scream trail capability. There’s no chrome fluff, just functional lines and simple LED bars for lights. The frame has real height off the ground.
Nobody handed final specs or horsepower numbers. GM just wanted to show what tomorrow’s talent can dream up when they’re handed the keys to an iconic badge. The concept might not be ready for the next big off-road race, but it backs up GM’s promise to keep the Hummer line evolving.
If this is what interns are creating now, imagine what’s in store for Hummer’s comeback.
