This 2008 Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang is one of the rarest and most recognizable Veyrons ever built—one of only five examples worldwide, showing just 7,629 kilometers. Translating to “pure blood” in French, the Pur Sang showcases an unpainted body of polished aluminum and exposed carbon fiber, emphasizing the Veyron’s raw engineering and sculptural form.
Introduced in 2007 as Bugatti’s first limited-edition variant, it was inspired by designer Achim Anscheidt’s observation that visitors admired the car most during assembly. The exposed materials reduce weight by around 90 kilograms, improving the power-to-weight ratio. Its 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine delivers 1,000 horsepower and a top speed of roughly 407 km/h.
Set to be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s this Saturday, this example is the very first Pur Sang built. Its interior features a refined blend of beige and grey leather surrounding the model’s signature turned aluminum center console.
Delivered new to Germany, it remained with its first owner until 2010, when it was sold to a Swiss collector, before returning to Germany in 2018 under its third private owner. Showing just over 7,600 kilometers, this example comes with its service book, including official Bugatti main dealer entries—attesting to its meticulous care and provenance.
