The 2027 Land Cruiser Costs More At The Bottom And Less At The Top

  • The 2027 Land Cruiser arrives this spring for $57,880.
  • Base model climbs $280, but range-topper falls $950.
  • Changes include a new Inked color and a fancier interior.

The redesigned Land Cruiser has been a hit with consumers as sales jumped over 50% last year. Toyota is trying to keep that momentum going by announcing a series of updates as well as a small price hike.

Starting with the latter, the 2027 Land Cruiser 1958 will begin at $57,880 when it arrives at dealerships this spring. That’s $280 more than its predecessor and the destination fee remains unchanged at $1,495.

While the cost of entry goes up, the range-topping Land Cruiser trim is actually $950 cheaper as the price falls from $63,675 to $62,725. That’s a sizable savings and it helps to put some additional distance between the model and the similar Lexus GX.

Besides pricing tweaks, the 2027 Land Cruiser lineup receives a series of small updates. Starting outside, there’s a new color known as Inked. Customers can also order a newly available high mounted air intake, which presumably echoes the one found on the 4Runner Trailhunter.

Interior changes are also minor, but the Premium Package on the Land Cruiser trim now includes heated and ventilated second-row seats.

Speaking of equipment, the 1958 has a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other highlights include an automatic climate control system, a six-speaker audio system, a 2400W AC inverter, and a trailer brake controller.

The Land Cruiser trim trades fabric seats for leather-like SofTex upholstery. The model also sports heated and ventilated front seats, a wireless smartphone charger, and larger 12.3-inch displays. They’re joined by a 10-speaker audio system and a power liftgate.

Under the hood, there’s a familiar i-Force Max powertrain that consists of a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission with an integrated electric motor. It produces a combined output of 326 hp (243 kW / 331 PS) and 465 lb-ft (630 Nm) of torque.

The good news doesn’t end there as the Land Cruiser is equipped with a full-time four-wheel drive system as well as center and rear locking differentials. The model also sports CRAWL control, Downhill Assist Control, and an available front stabilizer disconnect.
