At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Koenigsegg’s newest track-focused hypercar, called the Sadair’s Spear, made some waves by smashing the Goodwood hillclimb record, becoming the fastest production car to do so. The successor to the Jesko, the car is named after the last racehorse ridden by Jesko von Koenigsegg, the father of company founder Christian von Koenigsegg.

Powered by a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 1,602 horsepower, the Sadair’s Spear can rev to 8,500rpm in just 0.2 seconds. It’s also about 35kg lighter than the Jesko, helping it lap Sweden’s Gotland Ring over a second quicker. The top speed is rated at over 220 mph.

Priced at over $5 million, the car made its public debut by completing the Goodwood hillclimb in 47.14 seconds—beating the Czinger 21C‘s record last year by over a second. For a look at the car in action as it breaks the record, watch the video below presented by Goodwood Road & Racing.
