Prepare for the return of the Renault Espace, as the French car giant reinvents the family MPV – the once-common 'multi-purpose vehicle'.
Shown here is a prototype five-seater called 'R-Space' – it takes its inspiration from the original Renault Espace and smaller Scenic models.
Under the banner of creating 'cars for life', it features highly flexible seating, including three individual movable seats in the rear in a modular cabin 'designed for living'.
At 4.5 metres long, it aims to pack maximum interior space into a relatively small footprint.
The windscreen width panoramic dashboard screen harks back to earlier Renault MPVs of the late 1990s and early 2000s.
It is part of a 36-strong model offensive by 2030 with which the wider Renault Group aims to mark its next big chapter following the success of its reborn but retro-inspired all-electric Renault 5.
