  • Charger Scat Pack gets 550 hp from a twin-turbo inline-six.
  • It sprints to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and tops out at 177 mph.
  • Orders for the four-door open today, priced from $56,995.

Dodge’s launch of the Charger Daytona didn’t exactly go as smoothly as planned. Now, it’s about to get a second kick at the can… or in this case, the six pack.

Rather than an EV powerplant, this new Charger Scat Pack has a twin-turbocharged inline-six with 550 horsepower (410 kW). Orders just went live for the new four-door sedan model and a week from now, we’ll be testing it for you.

With 531 lb-ft (720 Nm) of torque, a 0-60 time of 3.9 seconds, and a top speed of 177 mph, this is the most powerful sedan in America for less than $60,000.

That figure breaks down to $56,995 plus a $1,995 destination fee, for a total of $58,990 before state taxes for the sedan, or $2,000 more than the two-door Charger Scat Pack, which lists at $54,995 or $56,990 including destination.

Clearly, it’s not just a horsepower builder either. It’ll do the quarter mile in 12.2 seconds, and drivers can even switch the AWD system into RWD only for smoky burnouts and drifts.

Dodge will kick off the series with standard all-wheel drive featuring a rear-drive mode when the mood strikes. Performance hardware such as Brembo brakes, Line Lock, and launch control will be included from day one. A dual-mode active exhaust should help the Hurricane inline-six sound as good as possible.

The cabin features a 12.3-inch infotainment system, carbon and suede interior trim, and leather/suede performance seats. Production begins early next year.

Keep in mind that the Scat Pack isn’t the only Charger headed this way. The base version, the R/T trim, will start at $49,995 and come with 420 horsepower (313 kW), but it won’t come out til next year. For now, order books only offer the Scat Pack, but that doesn’t sound like too bad of a deal as it stands.
