
Over the weekend, NASCAR hosted playoff races on the 1.5-mile of Kansas Speedway. Two penalties have been issued following the race in Kansas City.

Carson Hocevar has been issued a behavioral penalty. The Spire Motorsports driver has been fined $50,000.
“Hocevar’s No. 77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet spun to a halt on the backstretch on the 260th of 273 laps in the Hollywood Casino 400, flattening multiple tires,” NASCAR stated in a release. “After safety personnel had arrived at the crash scene, officials indicated that Hocevar revved and spun his tires in an attempt to rejoin the field while those safety workers attended to his car.”

Penalty: The team has been fined $5,000.

– Member-to-Member confrontation(s) with physical violence (e.g. striking another Competitor) and other violent manifestations such as significant threat(s) and/or abuse and/or endangerment.
– Multiple violations of the Code of Conduct.
– Selling NASCAR Single Event Credentials (VIP Passes, Essential Worker Passes, etc.).
– Being charged with or convicted of significant criminal violations (e.g. Domestic Violence, Trafficking, Assault), or having had determinations rendered by criminal or civil authorities that in NASCAR’s judgment necessitate action. NASCAR will not pre-judge guilt or innocence in the criminal or civil legal system, or the guilt or innocence of the Member, but rather review each matter in its own context and circumstances and with regards to its potential effects upon the sport.
– Violations of NASCAR’s Sports Gambling Policy.
– Failure to self-report any arrests for drug or alcohol related offenses, including but not limited to driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
