Silly season in the middle of the season

Randall Burnett has served as the crew chief for Kyle Busch for every race so far in 2025. However, for 2026, he’s set to join Trackhouse Racing as the crew chief for NASCAR Cup Series rookie Connor Zilisch.

Now, ahead of that move, Richard Childress Racing has moved Andy Street to the crew chief of the No. 8 car beginning with this weekend’s race on the Charlotte ROVAL.

Burnett will remain with RCR through the end of his contract for the 2025 season. RCR stated his new role is a, “support role with the organization through the end of the season.”

RCR noted in a team release, “Additional information regarding future competition roles will be shared at a later date.”

Kyle Busch is currently in his 23rd season of NASCAR Cup Series competition. With 745 career races he’s visited victory lane 63 times.

However, Busch is currently on a winless streak. He won in his debut season with RCR in 2023 but he was unable to find a win in 2024 or thus far in 2025.
