If you're on the hunt for a last-minute Christmas activity to enjoy with your mates or family, one mum reckons she's discovered the 'most unique' experience in the UK.
For many, the heart of the festive season is about spending quality time with loved ones. While Christmas parties and dinners are a fantastic way to do this, occasionally, it can be a laugh to try something different together. However, coming up with these activities can be a challenge, particularly when catering to a range of ages and interests. But one family believes they've stumbled upon the most unique Christmas activity in Northamptonshire.
The Summers Family have made a name for themselves on social media platforms, including TikTok, where they regularly post videos and suggestions for family-friendly activities across the UK.
In one video, which racked up over 1.5 million views, they encouraged people to head to Silverstone for a Christmas-themed light drive around the legendary Formula 1 circuit.
"We found the most unique Christmas experience. Drive the F1 Silverstone circuit for the lap of lights," they penned in the overlay text of the video, before sharing footage of the sights visitors can anticipate to find there.
Silverstone's annual 'Lap of Lights' is back for 2025, promising to be 'bigger and better than ever'. The two-mile long light trail on the F1 circuit costs £50 per car, allowing guests to drive through the circuit, meet Santa Claus, and ice skate in the iconic garages used by the F1 teams.
In a video shared by the Summer's Family, they can be seen driving through the course, surrounded by festive lights and inflatable decorations, before various light displays are performed for the visitors' enjoyment.
"Driving the Silverstone circuit... but make it magical," they captioned the post, describing being enveloped by music, lights, 'and pure wow moments'.
They further explained that after completing your lap, you can head into the pit stop for some food or hot drinks, relax in the movie corner, check out some F1 cars, sit in the karts, or visit Santa's garage. There's also the option to go ice skating.
The comment section was soon filled with people sharing their own experiences, while others expressed their desire to visit.
One viewer enthused: "Wow, never fancied driving round Silverstone (flat and fast) always fancied Brands Hatch more (up, down, round and very challenging), but Silverstone with dramatic lighting, now you're talking! ! !".
Another joked: "Why is everyone going slow ... you on rainbow road of Mario kart now get that shell and floor it."
A third chimed in: "It wouldnt feel right driving the Renault scenic 7 seater on that tarmac."
Another spectator questioned whether the £50 entry fee was justified, to which the family responded: "I would definitely go again - it's per car so I do think it's worth it."
Silverstone's Lap of Lights is making a return from 12 December to 3 January, and tickets can be bought on their website. But you'll need to act fast, as tickets are going fast.
