Jim Rowan, the former Chief Executive Officer of Volvo Cars, has joined the board of directors at Lotus Technology Inc., effective June 30, 2025. This appointment follows his recent departure from Volvo, where he served as CEO for three years and oversaw significant company transformation and global strategic development.
Rowan brings more than thirty years of international leadership experience from the automotive, consumer, and technology industries. Prior to his time at Volvo, he was CEO of Dyson from 2012 to 2020 and served as Chief Operating Officer at BlackBerry. He’s also held board positions at electric mobility brands Polestar and Lynk&Co, as well as Henkel GmbH. Additionally, Rowan has served on the industrial advisory board of Nanyang Technological University.
Academically, Rowan holds an MSc in Business with a focus on Supply Chain Management and Logistics from Northumbria University in the UK. He has been awarded honorary doctorates from both Glasgow Caledonian University and Northumbria University in recognition of his achievements in engineering and science.
Lotus will leverage Rowan’s expertise in business transformation, customer innovation, and technology as it accelerates into an era defined by electrification and advanced mobility solutions.
