Ford has stepped into the digital showroom with Amazon, enabling dealers to sell certified pre-owned vehicles on the tech giant's platform. The move allows customers to complete their entire purchase online from browsing Ford’s “Blue Advantage” certified pre-owned inventory to securing financing before picking up their vehicle at a participating dealer.
This initiative is currently live in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Dallas, with plans to roll out to more cities soon. Over 160 U.S. Ford dealers have shown interest, with about a dozen fully onboard and more launching imminently. Pricing is fixed with no haggling, and each vehicle undergoes a thorough multi-point inspection. Buyers also get a limited warranty that lasts up to one year or 12,000 miles, plus a 14-day or 1,000-mile money-back guarantee.
For Ford, the program aims to drive traffic to dealership lots by combining the convenience of online shopping with hands-on, local pickup. If certified pre-owned sales prove successful on Amazon, Ford may expand the program to include new vehicles.
By bridging e-commerce and traditional dealerships, Ford is reimagining how people buy used cars, blending ease with reassurance ... a balance perfect for today’s pace and shopper expectations.
