Formula 1's penalty points system can be hard to track, despite it often making headlines - with multiple drivers having veered close to suspension over the last few years.
A total of 12 points accrued results in a race ban, something that last happened in 2024 when Ollie Bearman had to stand in for a banned Kevin Magnussen at Haas in Baku.
