The replacement driver was not announced with the release. Spire noted that announcement would come at a later date.

This news broke while Corey LaJoie was taping his weekly podcast. LaJoie is in a unique scenario regarding this news as he formerly drove the No. 7 car.

LaJoie was racing full-time in the No. 7 during the 2024 season. However, toward the end of the season, Rick Ware Racing traded Justin Haley to the team and the two drivers swapped rides.

And, LaJoie took it up on himself to leak the 2026 driver for the No. 7 car.

“Yeah, the No. 7 car gets another victim,” Corey LaJoie stated via the Stacking Pennies podcast.

“I really do hate that for him. Because he went from driving the No. 48 car, like he was in the pipeline for that. To now he doesn’t have a seat.”

“I obviously have a lot of behind the scenes information on how all that stuff went down. But, Justin is better than what this year has shown.”

“That is a dumpster fire over there at the moment with that No. 7 team in-particular. It seems like Suarez, when the music stops is going to be in that seat.”

LaJoie was asked if he was leaking information.

To which he responded, “Sure. I don’t care.”

“It’s like, if you’ve got sponsorship and you can plug it in somewhere, and it’s the best available seat. Then, that’s where you plug your money in and you keep getting your fun tokens to drive around in circles.”

Suarez is set to leave Trackhouse Racing at the end of the 2025 season.
