On Sunday, NASCAR hosted the championship race at Phoenix Raceway. Sydney Sweeney was at the event and sat in on the drivers meeting.
William Byron is the driver of the No. 24 car in the NASCAR Cup Series. He was moments away from taking the green flag in a championship battle.
After the driver meeting, Austin Dillon attempted to create a new power couple. Dillon grabbed Byron and basically forced him to meet Sweeney.
At that moment, she was already in a conversation with Carson Hocevar. Dillon brought an abrupt end to that conversation, tagging in Byron.

“NASCAR planted the seed,” Austin Dillon stated via the Stacking Pennies podcast.
“Because their seats were across from each other. You know, Willy B and Sydney.”
“I said, ‘Look, Willy B and Sydney that’d be big.’ Logano actually looked over to me and he said, ‘That’d be big for the entire sport!’ “
“Rolled by some people were talking to her and I said, ‘Hey look, you need to meet Willy B.’ She’s like, ‘who’s Willy B?’ “
“I’m like, ‘He’s in our Championship 4. He’s our most eligible bachelor in NASCAR.’ “
“She said, ‘Oh really?’ Where’s he at?’ “
“I said, ‘Well hold on, I’ll go get him.’ Ran up the stairwell, grabbed Willy B. I think he was nervously trying to like play me off.”
“One of his sponsors are right there and said, ‘Go meet her.’ He’s like, ‘Okay.’ “
“Grabbed him. As we got closer I think his face got more red. Hocevar was in the way. I said, ‘Hey, beat it. You don’t want nothing to do with this guy.’ “
“Put Willy B up there. They shook hands. I don’t know, I was hoping for more of like a hug or something. A longer conversation, maybe a number. But, just went for the handshake and ‘nice to meet you ma’am.’ “
“As we left, I shouted, “Taylor and Travis wouldn’t have nothing on you two.’ That was pretty much it.”
