The three-wheeled Reliant Robin was the butt of numerous jokes, many of them from Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson, who famously had one modified so it would roll onto its side every time he went around a corner.

The three-wheeled Reliant Robin was the butt of numerous jokes, many of them from Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson, who famously had one modified so it would roll onto its side every time he went around a corner. England’s Reliant Company made the Robin from 1973 to 1981. Its production was reprised from 1989 to 2001.

The Robin was devised as a three-wheeler so that it could be driven on the roads of England with just a motorcycle license. It seats four in relative discomfort and can travel at speeds up to 85 mph. Next to the Chevrolet Corvette, the Robin is the most popular fiberglass-bodied car in the world, with more than 63,000 sold.
