Final Day Highlights | WRC Delfi Rally Estonia 2025
Rain swept across the stages early, making conditions unpredictable. Elfyn Evans, tasked as road sweeper after a tough weekend, finally got a bit of relief as the wet surface improved grip, but still struggled to close in on teammates further up the order.
Solberg, driving for Toyota and contesting just his 13th top-tier WRC event, put in a peerless display, pulling clear of rival Ott Tänak. While Tänak pushed hard, a jump start from his Hyundai teammate Thierry Neuville resulted in a 10-second penalty and dropped Neuville back into a tense fight for the podium, putting pressure from both Kalle Rovanperä and Esapekka Lappi behind.
In the penultimate stage, championship leader Evans and co-driver Scott Martin navigated the ever-changing conditions well, moving up to sixth. Meanwhile, damage for Adrien Fourmaux just ahead opened the door for Evans to potentially break into the top five.
By the final stage, Solberg delivered a composed and rapid run to seal victory in front of an emotional team. At just 23 years old, he becomes the newest rally winner, marking a hugely popular and symbolic moment for the WRC. Tänak and Neuville completed the podium with Rovanperä just missing out in fourth.
The result also upends the drivers' championship standings: Tänak takes over the lead from Evans, with Rovanperä, Neuville, and others now in close pursuit as the series heads next to Rally Finland.
