Attention in the World Rally Championship is on the fight at the front; the epic title fight brewing between four drivers.
But Rally Chile is a very important event for a driver less in the spotlight.
Debating on this week’s SPIN, The Rally Pod, Colin Clark, Alasdair Lindsay and Eliot Barnard reckon Grégoire Munster really needs to show something this week.
Why? Because his usual experience deficit doesn’t exist, with Munster taking on Chile twice before in a Rally1 car. By contrast, M-Sport team-mate Josh McErlean has never competed in Chile before. With the end of the season nearing, it’s now or never for Munster to really show what he’s made of.
Elsewhere on the podcast – available to listen to below – the team discuss why Ogier’s mentality is so different this year compared to last, Adrien Fourmaux’s effect on the title race and whether team orders make sense for Hyundai.
