Words by Alasdair Lindsay, Head of Digital Strategy

What do we want from rallying?

We want fair and equal competition. We want the best of the best drivers battling it out. But, in the end, we also want it to be fun.

The surname Fiorio carries with it a storied past. Cesare, the family patriarch, led rallying’s most successful manufacturer by world titles won – Lancia – throughout its heyday.

Now his son and granddaughter, Alex and Maria Paola, are mixing rally heritage with a new format twist. Equal cars, no setup changes – just a pure race against the clock. All the while, making sure the competitors aren’t stressing over mammoth itineraries and enjoying the competition.

Alasdair Lindsay went behind the scenes to discover what it’s all about, with plenty of familiar faces from rallying front and center of this different take on rallying.
