Wheeler Dealers star Mike Brewer has suggested one of the most popular Ford models on the road could be the best-used car on the market for under £10,000. The presenter of the classic car restoration series pointed buyers towards the iconic Ford Fiesta.
Fuel efficiency, practicality, reliability and cheap car insurance are among some of the traits that have made the Fiesta the UK’s go-to car. However, Mike pointed out another major reason why the Fiesta could be ideal for those looking for a new model. Thousands swap hands every year, with the market practically flooded with Fiesta examples for motorists to choose from. This extra variety makes it easier to find a great deal with surplus stock allowing motorists to analyse the fine details.
Previously speaking to Car Dealer Magazine, Mike said: "Go and choose a car wisely and my suggestion would be a car like the Ford Fiesta. Under £10,000 for a Ford Fiesta, you are getting into a good part of the market.
"Fiesta’s are great selling cars when they are new. That means there are loads of them in the second-hand market. And the reason why that's good is because you don’t have to go for the first one.
"You can always stare at one if it's no good and it doesn't suit your needs. You know you're going to find another because there are plenty out there in the marketplace.
"So think Ford Fiesta. My advice is to spend as much money as you possibly can on the best car you possibly can."
Last year, the Ford Fiesta once again topped the UK’s best-selling used car sales chart.
According to data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), a staggering 306,207 used Fiesta’s were sold in 2024.
The model was so popular it even exceeded sales of the Vauxhall Corsa by more than 50,000 units.
According to analysis from used car experts at Parkers, motorists can secure a top-of-the-range used Fiesta model from 2008-2017 for under £8,000.
Fiesta ST models built from 2012 to 2017 also average between £3,000 and just over £6,000
Even some examples of the newer Ford Fiesta Active models from 2018 to 2022 can be purchased for under £8,000.
