Custom bike builder Maxwell Hazan has crafted a mesmerizing motorcycle around the V-8 engine from a Ferrari F355.

Dubbed the HF355, it has been designed from scratch, rather than transplanting the Italian heart into an existing bike chassis. That meant creating a bespoke frame, hand-sculpted bodywork, and designing suspension and braking that will match the V-8’s 400 hp.

“The goal was to create a V-8 powered sport bike that still had the proportions of a normal motorcycle and it was definitely a challenge,” writes Hazan on Instagram.

Los Angeles-based Hazan says he had help with the project from a number of partners. SC Project provided a tailor-made exhaust system, the suspension comes from Rogue Racing, tires are from Pirelli, and the lubricants are from Motul.

Hazan has been working on the HF355 since early 2024, and now the project is almost complete, with his latest update showing the bike in motion for the first time. Originally, he was targeting a 500 lb weight for the completed bike (of which the engine and six-speed transmission make up 319 lb), however, in its final guise, it tips the scale at 590 lbs, including all fluids and four gallons of gas.

A former interior designer and contractor, Hazan first began building bikes in his father’s woodshop in Brooklyn, New York, before moving to L.A. to pursue his dream of making special motorcycles for a living.

“Every bike that I create is one of one, made by my own two hands here in my workshop,” he explains on the Hazan Motorworks website. “Each bike is unique and never replicated.  I push myself to make something new with every project and build the most interesting designs that I can think of in the most elegant way possible.”

Hazan’s previous builds include salt flat racers, streamline BSAs, as well as an eclectic mix of futuristic and classic style stunners, but the HF355 is perhaps his most ambitious to date.

Sounds great and it has an easy to change timing belt.

Like the old choppers with the primary case cover removed.

FYI this is why many of the faithful reject EV power. It never sounded this good.

Forget about the Boss Hoss after seeing this. Are the Hoss bikes still being made with their SBCs?

Not sure but they had 454 as well.

Awe-inspiring! I want mine with a Cummins diesel.

If you ever dump it, you’ll need to rent a crane.

E.J. Potter is rolling in his grave!

That is awesomeness

This and the Viper powered bike are crazy ideas that I love to see.
