Timothée Chalamet's unconventional red carpet entrance at the London premiere of "A Complete Unknown" came with an unexpected price tag. The 29-year-old star of the Bob Dylan biopic arrived at BFI Southbank on a Lime rental bike, creating a buzz among onlookers and paparazzi. However, the eco-friendly stunt backfired when Chalamet was slapped with a £65 ($79) fine for improperly parking the e-bike.

Speaking on the French talk show "Quotidien," Chalamet explained his choice of transport was due to a traffic jam that threatened to make him late for the premiere. "I got a £65 fine and actually it was horrible because it was actually kind of an advert for them," he quipped, acknowledging the irony of the situation.

This isn't the first time Chalamet has taken an unconventional approach to promoting the film. He previously crashed his own look-alike contest in New York's Washington Square Park and made a surprise appearance on ESPN's "College Gameday."

While Lime undoubtedly appreciated the free publicity, the company showed no favoritism, demonstrating that even Hollywood stars aren't exempt from their parking rules. The incident highlights the ongoing challenges cities face with e-bike and e-scooter rentals, as providers struggle to balance convenience with responsible use and storage of their vehicles.

Chalamet's bike ride may have cost him more than expected, but it certainly succeeded in drawing attention to both the film and the complexities of urban micro-mobility.
