The Generous Collection belongs to Greg Rusk, a cardboard packaging mogul who spent nearly three decades buying cars at full price to help locals facing financial hardship. This altruism left him with a sprawling trove of approximately 1,300 vehicles stored across six buildings, ranging from 259 Chevys, 109 Fords, and 105 Cadillacs, to 12 Volkswagen Beetles and a smattering of JDM and European cars.
Many of the cars wear a light patina of dust, with a few in nearly pristine condition while others carry the signs of age moldy interiors, surface rust, and faded paint. The auction runs online over several months via Hagerty’s Marketplace with every car sold no reserve, meaning the highest bid takes the keys regardless of the final price.
Rusk’s unusual buying strategy paying sellers' full asking price, especially when they were struggling financially earned his collection its generous name. Now, he hopes this incredible assortment finds loving new owners who will put these cars back on the road and into the culture they deserve.
From custom 1990s Cadillacs to tiny 1967 King Midgets and even quirky hearses, The Generous Collection offers treasures and projects for every kind of enthusiast.
