Popular vehicles from top brands such as Ford, Audi and Mercedes are set to be discontinued with orders coming to a close.

Production on well-known model ranges such as the Ford Focus ST, Honda Civic Type E and BMW Z4 are set to end within months.

Brands such as Volkswagen, Nissan, Mazda and Porsche are also set to end eras, with models set to leave the forecourt.

The Daily Express looks at the top 10 cars set to be discontinued over the rest of 2025 and into 2026.

FORD FOCUS

Ford Focus ST

The American manufacturer is set to cease production on the Ford Focus ST this November, with sales ending earlier this year.

The model disappeared from dealer price lists back in May, with the marque confirming there “no new factory orders available”.

Ford is seeking a buyer of their Saarlouis plant in Germany, where Focus models are constructed.

Volkswagen Touareg

Volkswagen Touareg

News that Volkswagen would be axing the Touareg was first released last month, with Autocar claiming production would end by 2026.

The Touareg is considered to be a luxury SUV with the model range understood to be a high-quality, premium option for consumers.

However, experts believe the loss of the Touareg is effectively the end of the German brand’s efforts to push into the premium market after 23 years.

Audi A1 on the road

Audi A1

The Audi A1 is one of the German manufacturer's biggest sellers but it hasn't stopped the model from facing the axe.

Audi CEO Gernot Dollner previously revealed the company will "end production of the A1" in 2026.

He confirmed there would definitely "be no successor for the A1" with the brand moving towards its all-electric future.

Nissan GTR

Nissan GT-R

The Nissan GT-R is one of the most recognisable high-performance sports cars on the market, but the iconic model looks set to be no more.

Nissan retired the GT-R in Europe back in 2022 and ended sales in the United States in 2024.

Now, Nissan has confirmed it has stopped taking orders for the R35 GT-R in Japan, ending an era that began back in 2007.
