Ford Motor Company, established by Henry Ford in 1903, is a global brand. It stands as the sixth-largest car manufacturer worldwide and America's second-biggest.
The company's iconic logo remains instantly recognisable to millions across the globe. The blue shade is said to represent strength, excellence, and grace, while the oval form conveys a sense of reliability and stability.
However, there is also a subtle element that has been baffling drivers because they've never spotted it before. It concerns the cursive letter at the centre.
Specifically, there is a misunderstanding about how the F is written. Monica Turner shared a video showing two versions of the badge – one featuring an additional flourish on the second stem of the "F" and the second without.
She said: "This one's weird because the more I look at it, the more they both look wrong."
Monica added: "This is one of the most recognisable logos in the world. This logo has changed over time.
"Sometimes it's a much bigger oval, sometimes the colours are different – there's red, there's black, there's different shades of blue. But the one thing that has always stayed the same is the actual logo."
So which one of the emblems is actually correct? Monica put the question to her followers, asking which of two designs they believed was authentic.
Then, she revealed that the genuine Ford logo has consistently incorporated a flourish on the "F". She stated: "The answer is the curl.
"It's always had the curl. Does it look right to you? I don't know. This is one that I don't know. I'm not familiar enough with it, but a lot of people are very vocal about this particular logo."
Numerous drivers were bewildered as to how they'd never noticed the logo swirl before – even if they'd owned Ford cars previously!
One said: "It doesn't look right to me." Another wrote: "This tells me I've never actually looked at the writing in the ford logo." And a third added: "I don't believe it."
The confusion may have emerged because Ford has streamlined its logo throughout the years. Even though the blue oval and the script have stayed consistent, the current version appears sleeker.
Launched in 2003 for the company's centennial, it features a more contemporary appearance with a gradient blue background and chrome-like border.
