We asked and Sébastien Ogier answered. And the answer’s precisely what we were hoping for: the eight-time world champion will chase a third Secto Rally Finland victory later this month.
The Frenchman confirmed his entry on Wednesday, relishing the opportunity to enjoy the season’s fastest roads aboard one of five factory Toyota GR Yaris Rally1s which will take the start in a little over four weeks’ time.
Ogier, who sits out the next round in Estonia, said: “My summer will actually not be as free as initially planned. Since a little while I was thinking that doing again Rally Finland will be something nice, as obviously last year was a great rally for me with my second win up there.

“I mentioned since a while to the team, that, yeah, why not add Rally Finland to the list and try to have fun on these beautiful roads – I will be at the start in four or five weeks.”
This month’s Jyväskylä-based event will be Ogier’s 15th start at Rally Finland, but only his second outing in four years, having skipped the 2022 and 2023 events.
Ogier, who has taken three wins and two second places from his five starts so far this season, sits second in the drivers’ championship, just nine points adrift of team-mate and series leader Elfyn Evans.
