On Thursday, a Cessna Citation owned by former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle crashed at the Statesville Regional Airport.

Seven people have passed in the crash. Greg Biffle along with his wife Cristina, son Ryder and daughter Emma all died in the crash.

The others onboard the aircraft included Dennis Dutton and his son, Jack as well as Craig Wadsworth.

The NTSB is currently investigating the crash with over a dozen on site. Today, they held a press conference and released early details.

Former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle and family killed in plane crash

The plane crashed roughly 10 minutes after takeoff. The debris from the plane begins approximately 1800 feet short of runway.

There was no flight data recorder on the aircraft however there was a voice recorder. The voice recorder is currently being analyzed.

Three people on the plane had a pilot’s license. It remains unclear who the pilot of the plane was at the time of the crash.

A full report on the crash is expected to take months. However, a preliminary NTSB report is expected within 30 days.
