Mini Countryman Embraces Value For 2027

by Michael Gauthier

  • Mini has introduced the 2027 Countryman.
  • The value-focused Oxford Edition returns.
  • Pricing starts at $34,900 and climbs to $49,400.

Mini USA has introduced the 2027 Countryman, which sees the return of the value-focused Oxford Edition. It’s based on the Countryman S ALL4 and starts at $34,900 before a $1,350 destination fee.

That makes it the cheapest Countryman in America as it undercuts the Countryman S ALL4 Signature Plus by $4,000. The company only released a handful of details, but said the model features a Chili Red, Blazing Blue Metallic, or Nanuq White Metallic exterior with a contrasting black roof and matching black mirror caps. They’re joined by privacy glass and gloss black 18-inch wheels wrapped in all-season tires.

The company barely mentioned the interior, but the Oxford Edition has an anthracite headliner as well as blue and grey sport seats covered in cloth and Vescin upholstery. Since “most” equipment is shared with the higher-end variant, we can expect a circular infotainment system as well as a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine developing 241 hp (180 kW / 244 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque.

Mini also announced the model will be offered with a curated accessory package that costs $720. It includes a heritage hood graphic and Union Jack mirror caps as well as a Black Jack license plate frame and valve stem caps.

Additional changes are limited, but the Favoured Style option now includes a trailer hitch and space-saver spare tire on the Countryman S ALL4 as well as a trailer hitch on the Countryman SE ALL4. This adds $700 to $1,000 worth of kit, but the price of the option only climbs by $100.

Speaking of the Countryman SE, it appears to eschew a spare in the name of a new Seal & Drive Tire Kit. Mini says it includes a device that “attaches magnetically to the wheel and uses a combination of air and sealant to seal the leak while driving slowly.” It replaces the previous mobility kit and is designed to allow drivers to get to a nearby service center for proper tire repair or replacement.

Lastly, the Signature Plus and Iconic variants get a universal garage door opener as a $250 standalone option. That’s pretty pricey, but at least you don’t have to shell out big bucks to get it bundled in a package.
