For Meyer Shank Racing (MSR), 2025 has been a year of bold expressions and show-stopping custom liveries in partnership with SiriusXM, and the grand finale is no exception. As the IndyCar season heads to its thrilling conclusion at Nashville Superspeedway, MSR will debut their fifth and final SiriusXM-inspired paint scheme on the No. 60 SiriusXM Honda, driven by Felix Rosenqvist. This time, they’re turning up the volume with a “Maximum Metallica” design.
Inspired by the legendary band Metallica and their newly launched year-round SiriusXM channel, Maximum Metallica (Channel 42), the livery pays homage to the band’s 1984 classic album, “Ride the Lightning.” It’s a striking and powerful design that reflects both the raw energy of IndyCar racing and the intensity of Metallica’s music. The channel itself launched in late August and will be available for free across SiriusXM-equipped vehicles throughout September, allowing fans widespread access to the band’s curated playlist.
This collaboration marks the fifth SiriusXM partnership for MSR this year. The team’s previous paint schemes have celebrated iconic musical acts including Creed, Ozzy Osbourne, and the Grateful Dead. Each livery generated excitement among fans and brought a unique cultural twist to the high-speed world of IndyCar.
MSR co-owner Mike Shank shared his enthusiasm: “Our collaborations with SiriusXM have really resonated with fans. It’s been incredible to see the buzz around every new livery and musical tribute. Wrapping up the season with Metallica is the perfect way to close our year.”
Felix Rosenqvist will showcase this intense and electrifying design at the Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix on August 31 at Nashville Superspeedway, where MSR aims to carry their successful momentum forward.
Through these creative partnerships, Meyer Shank Racing has not only elevated their team’s presence on the track but also successfully blended music and motorsport, engaging diverse audiences and adding fresh excitement to the 2025 IndyCar Series.
Meyer Shank Racing’s “Maximum Metallica” livery is a fitting finale to a season of innovative, music-themed collaborations with SiriusXM, capturing the spirit of speed and sound as the 2025 IndyCar season races to its climax in Nashville.
