The hearing about the Turn 1 Sprint incident in Japan is complete, handing the #1 a double Long Lap as he returns to action

Jorge Martin (Aprilia Racing) returns to action this weekend after this collarbone injury sustained in the Tissot Sprint in Japan, but the #1 will have an added complication at his comeback Grand Prix: a double Long Lap penalty on Sunday.

It was a moment to forget for the Spaniard as he took down his teammate, Marco Bezzecchi, at lights out and picked up an injury in the process

The same Turn 1 incident that saw Martin sustain the injury has remained under investigation with the FIM MotoGP Stewards since it happened, and on Thursday morning they held a hearing with the Spaniard.

The result is a double Long Lap for riding “in an irresponsible manner causing a crash”. He’ll have to serve that during the Grand Prix race on Sunday.
