The NHRA Museum’s Twilight Cruise Nights happen on the first Wednesday of the month from April through December, with a break in May due to the Los Angeles County Fair. Free to spectators and $5 for each car entry, the cruise nights welcome every attendee into the fantastic NHRA Museum for no charge. The June 2025 gathering was special because the NHRA will be celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2026, and they’re already gearing up for the occasion.

More than 200 cars rolled into the parking lot outside the NHRA Museum in Pomona. From banger-powered Model A Fords to ’90s Camaros, a huge variety of vehicles was in attendance. As a highlight, a nitro-powered dragster fired up as a preview for the Hot Rod Reunion taking place this October in Famoso. Plenty of ’50s and ’60s hot rods and muscle cars were on hand, with hoods popped to show off various V-8 powertrains and at least one rotary.

Some well-known cars were also in attendance, including the NieKamp roadster, on loan from the Petersen Museum, and Big Red, one of the most famous ’69 Camaros ever built, which was fired up for the crowd. Racers Ron Capps, Don Prudhomme, and John Force were also spotted milling around the show, proving you never know who you might see at an NHRA event. Take a look at this wide assortment of customs and stop by the next NHRA Museum Twilight Cruise Night to take in the sights of the show and some of the historic drag racing and land speed cars inside the museum as well.

Good to see John out and about.

John’s cool, and I’m glad he’s okay, but I’d be more excited to see Don. I met him here at a local track over 50 years ago – when John was still learning the ropes.
