On Sunday, the NASCAR Cup Series raced at Kansas Speedway. A double-overtime brought chaos to the finish line.
On the second Overtime restart, Bubba Wallace and Christopher Bell were fighting for space at the front of the field. Off turn four, Wallace crowded Bell and they both ran wide.
Coming to the white flag and final lap, Wallace and Bell both lifted. Hamlin had a run behind them. Hamlin moved into 2nd as Wallace held the lead off two.
Heading into turn three, Hamlin drove it deep to the bottom and ran up the track. He doored Wallace and shoved him into the wall.
Hamlin and Wallace both lost momentum with the move. Chase Elliott drove under the both of them.
Coming to the finish line, Hamlin and Elliott rubbed doors. Chase Elliott grabbed the race win.
On the coll down lap, Wallace was seen with one finger out of his driver’s side window. Telling his boss, Denny Hamlin who was behind him, that he was number one.

“Just super disappointing,” Denny Hamlin told USA Network after the race.
“Wanted it bad. It would have been sixty for me. Got the restart I needed just couldn’t finish it there on the last corner.”
“Obviously got really tight there with the No. 23. And we let the No. 9 win.”
“We had no power steering that last run, low voltage. Just a lot of things. Disappointed because I don’t know that I’ve ever had a car that good, to the competition.”
Hamlin added, “I wanted it for my dad, for everybody. Just wanted it a little bit too hard.”
Last week, Denny Hamlin and his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Ty Gibbs were involved in an on-track incident. That’s led to a lot of coverage leading into this event.

Denny Hamlin is the co-owner of 23XI Racing. Bubba Wallace is the driver of the No. 23 car for the team.
“To even have a shot at the win, with the way we started, you could have fooled me. Because we were not good,” Wallace stated.
“Two years ago, I’d probably say something dumb. I mean, he’s a dumbass for that move, for sure. I don’t care if he’s my boss or not.”
“But, we’re going for the win. I hate that we gave it to Chevrolet there.”
Moments after the race, Wallace walked up to Hamlin on the pit lane. He reached his arm out for a handshake and then he walked away.
