Conceived to meet the new Appendix C sports car regulations, the TRC featured a lower, sleeker body by Scaglietti, a result of repositioning the 2.0-litre Lampredi engine for a lower center of gravity and improved handling. Chassis 0658, the very first example built, was delivered new to Carl Haas and went on to achieve notable SCCA and endurance racing success with Edmund P. Lunken, including an entry at the 1957 12 Hours of Sebring.

The 500 TRC is revered for its blend of beauty and performance. Its aluminum body, independent front suspension, and powerful inline-four engine made it a formidable class competitor, with only 19 examples produced. Chassis 0658 boasts documented provenance, long-term collector ownership, and Ferrari Classiche certification, cementing its place as a cornerstone of Ferrari’s motorsport heritage.

Restored by Carrozzeria Brandoli and a veteran of over 20 Mille Miglia Storica events, 0658 is as elegant as it is usable. Eligible for premier historic racing and concours, it embodies the golden era of design-led competition. As the genesis of the Testa Rossa lineage and one of the most beautiful Ferraris ever crafted, this is among the most significant four-cylinder Ferraris ever offered for sale.
