Franco Colapinto has lost three of his four points at Formula 1's Barcelona Grand Prix because of a post-race penalty.

The Alpine driver was found to have failed to slow for a yellow flag that was shown while Fernando Alonso's Aston Martin was being recovered at Turn 10.

The stewards said that while Colapinto "slightly reduced speed before entering the single yellow flag zone, [he] did not discernibly reduce speed in the relevant yellow flag sector".

"The stewards acknowledge that the driver reacted to the yellow flag, but do not consider the reaction to be sufficient to comply with the regulations," the stewards' decision read.

"Therefore, a penalty on the lower end of the applicable scale of penalties is imposed."

He was handed a 10-second time penalty that dropped him from eighth to 10th in the final classification.

Colapinto's penalty promotes both Racing Bulls drivers, Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad, up one position each into eighth and ninth.

He was also handed two penalty points, his first two of the last 12 months.

Williams was handed a pair of €5000 fines for operational errors.

Albon's car "started the formation lap with parts of a tyre blanket still on the car", while "the team left a black plastic box on the grass area next to the grid" by Carlos Sainz's car "and thereby did not take all of their equipment with them after the 15-second signal".
