Chevrolet has released pricing for the new Grand Sport and Grand Sport X trims of the Corvette, and they seem like a steal. The Grand Sport will start at $88,495, while the Grand Sport X will start at $112,195.
This makes it roughly $12,000 more than the base Stingray model, but a whopping $32,000 less than the more extreme Z06 model.
Both the Grand Sport and Grand Sport X occupy a small, but well-needed niche in the Corvette lineup. These are high-performance offerings with a more grand touring feel compared to the far harsher ZR1 and ZR1X.
The 2027 Grand Sport is powered by an all-new 6.7-liter V8 making 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque. The higher-performance Grand Sport X makes 721 horsepower, thanks to the aforementioned battery lifted from the now-discontinued E-Ray.
The Grand Sport and Grand Sport X should roll into dealers over the Summer, and they might be a hot ticket item, especially as Chevy announced that the Grand Sport models will be the last new nameplate for the 8th generation Corvette. But don't worry, production is not stopping anytime soon.
Motor1’s Take: Like always, the Grand Sport remains a sweet deal in the Corvette’s lineup. It is clearly doing its best to steer customers away from cars like the Porsche 911, thanks to a lower price and a louder engine.
