Bill Stroppe played a pivotal role in shaping Ford's motorsports program in the 1950s and the ensuing two decades, overseeing a diverse program that at different points included road races through Mexico, building and campaigning Indy cars, and perhaps most famously riding together with the likes of Parnelli Jones at Baja.

Stroppe’s big Broncos, built in his shop in Long Beach in the '60s and '70s, were legendary in off-road racing. They featured all the modifications necessary for a successful run in the Baja 1000, and typically came with a livery combining red, white, and blue, plus a black hood.

Ford is now celebrating Stroppe, who passed away in 1995, with a special-edition Bronco named after him.

Revealed on Tuesday, the 2025 Ford Bronco Stroppe Special Edition features a livery similar to one Stroppe might have applied on his own tuned Broncos. It comes exclusively with the Bronco's two-door body and aligns roughly with the Bronco Wildtrak in terms of equipment.

Some of its features include the Bronco's 330-hp twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V-6, Baja G.O.A.T mode, 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels with 35-inch Goodyear Territory RT tires, a stabilizer bar disconnect, and version 3.0 of the High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension system. This version includes Fox internal bypass dampers, a heavy-duty steering rack, a powder-coated steel bumper, steel bash plates and more.

Unique touches include the livery, which uses Ford's Code Orange paint for the first time on a non-Raptor model, plus matching tow hooks, squared-off high-clearance fenders, and removable side steps with integrated rock rails. There are also “Stroppe Special Edition” badges inside and out.

The 2025 Bronco Stroppe Special Edition will be available starting next January. Pricing information will be announced closer to the market launch. Bronco buyers also have a new Free Wheeling appearance package available for 2025, which adds retro design details inside and out.
