AC Cars Brings Flagship EV Technology to Iconic Cobra GT Roadster

Britain's oldest active vehicle manufacturer, AC Cars, has commenced dynamic demonstrations of its breathtaking new Cobra GT Roadster, a dedicated electric sports car that sets new benchmarks by fusing the brand's legendary heritage with cutting-edge EV innovation. Drawing inspiration from AC Cars' multi-award-winning flagship electric vehicle, the Cobra GT Roadster carves out its own identity, bringing a unique and exhilarating experience to the iconic sports car segment.

Exterior Design: A Bold Reinterpretation of an Icon

AC Cars' 'Tradition Electrified' design ethos, harmonizing the brand's storied past with a visionary future, was central to the Cobra GT Roadster's dramatic and progressive styling. This philosophy elevates the car's emotional appeal, seamlessly blending dynamic aesthetics with thoughtful functionality.

The Cobra GT Roadster exudes a highly assertive presence on the road. At the front, vertically-positioned LED headlamps flank the signature grille, contributing to an ultra-confident stance. Muscular fenders and differentiated graphics harmonize with the entire carbon fiber body. A modern interpretation of the iconic Cobra design incorporates AC Cars' latest lighting signature.

In profile, the Cobra GT Roadster projects an aura of exceptional power and agility. The long, sculpted hood seamlessly transitions into a sleek, aerodynamic cabin, portraying a highly technical yet timeless design. The dynamic silhouette and optimized interior space deliver an immersive open-air driving experience.  

The rear aspect completes the Cobra GT Roadster's high-tech form language. The integrated rear wing and sculpted LED taillights frame the car's purposeful stance, inspired by AC Cars' latest EV design language.

AC Cars offers the Cobra GT Roadster in seven body colors – three of which were created exclusively for the new model, including British Racing Green and Satin Black.

Interior Design: A Sustainable Performance Sanctuary

The Cobra GT Roadster's interior design offers an intimate yet spacious two-seat cabin that prioritizes the driving experience while providing a sustainable, connected environment.

An elegant, driver-focused center console incorporates a high-resolution digital display and intuitive controls. The lower area provides storage for small personal items, while a wireless charging pad enables seamless connectivity. Along with multi-adjustable ambient lighting and deeply bolstered sport seats, the Cobra GT Roadster's cabin enables an immersive and exhilarating yet serene driving experience.

A panoramic digital display provides clear graphics and intuitive information to the driver. Many functions can be controlled via steering wheel controls or through AC Cars' advanced voice assistant technology.

Customers can choose from a curated selection of interior trim colors and sustainable materials, including naturally tanned leather and recycled aluminum accents.

Electric Powertrain: Breathtaking Performance, Remarkable Range

The Cobra GT Roadster features an advanced electric powertrain based on AC Cars' proprietary EV platform. Utilizing the latest battery cell technology, it offers a choice of 75kWh or 100kWh battery packs paired with dual high-output electric motors.

The range-topping Cobra GT Roadster Performance model produces an astonishing 1,000 horsepower and 1,200 lb-ft of torque from its dual motors. This enables a blistering 0-60 mph time of just 2.7 seconds. Despite this supercar acceleration, the 100kWh battery provides an estimated 400-mile driving range on a single charge.

When the battery needs replenishing, AC Cars' advanced thermal management system enables ultra-rapid charging from 10-80% state-of-charge in under 20 minutes at 350kW public charging stations.

The Cobra GT Roadster also features an advanced torque vectoring system, adaptive air suspension, and massive carbon ceramic brakes to harness its prodigious performance.

Flagship EV Technology and Connectivity

AC Cars has equipped the Cobra GT Roadster with the full suite of advanced driver assistance, connectivity, and convenience features from its flagship electric vehicle lineup. This elevates the sports car ownership experience with cutting-edge innovations typically reserved for luxury EVs.

The Cobra GT's Advanced Driver Assistance Systems include adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, and a 360-degree camera system. A premium heads-up display projects critical information onto the windshield.

Through AC Cars' latest infotainment system, owners can stream music, access navigation, and utilize the brand's advanced voice assistant for natural voice controls. Over-the-air software updates will provide new features and enhancements over time.

The Cobra GT Roadster is also the first AC Cars model to offer bi-directional charging capability, allowing owners to use the vehicle's battery pack to power external devices, campsites, or even charge other EVs in an emergency.

Production of the limited-edition Cobra GT Roadster is slated to begin in late 2024 at AC Cars' assembly facility in the UK. Pricing will start at £175,000, with fully-optioned Performance models exceeding £250,000. Prospective clients can register their interest now at ac.cars.
