Almost half of U.S. Porsche 911 S buyers opt for all-wheel drive, and now there’s more choice as the Carrera 4S returns to showrooms for the 2026 model year.
Available as a coupe, cabriolet, or Targa, the new Porsche 911 4S models all gain more stop, more go, as well as an uptick in standard equipment.
There’s 30 hp more than the previous model, courtesy of the latest three-liter twin turbo flat six motor out back, which has had its intercooling optimized. Total output is now 473 hp, with 390 lb-ft of torque. Opt for the Sport Chrono Package, hit launch control, and the C4S coupe will run 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds. Top speed is 191 mph.
The eight-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission sends power to all four wheels, with Porsche Traction Management defaulting to a rear-bias, but able to send drive forward when needed to a water-cooled front differential via an electronic clutch. Rear axle steering is also included for added agility.
A silver-tipped sports exhaust comes standard, and the brakes are lifted from the previous generation GTS, with discs measuring 408 mm up front and 308 mm at the rear. The dampers have been uprated for a better ride and faster response as well. Carry-overs from the old C4S include the staggered 20/21 -inch alloy wheels and Porsche’s Torque Vectoring Plus system. Ceramic composite brakes and PASM sport suspension remain on the options list as before.
There’s more leather in the cabin now, with hide covering the seats, headrests, upper dash, and upper door panels. Leather rear seats are also standard, but you can delete them if you wish, and you get wireless phone charging and matrix LED headlights for no extra cost.
Deliveries will begin in the fall. Pricing for the C4S Coupe is estimated to come in around $155K up to nearly $170K for the Targa, with specific pricing to be announced later.
These cars are just so large anymore. The Cayman is really becoming more like the original 911 being small light and nimble.
997 is peak modern 911 to me, it’s as big as I want the car to get and as tech laden as I want.
