More than 250,000 Honda and Acura vehicles are being recalled by Honda, according to a recall notice posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The recall includes certain model years of the Honda Pilot, as well as certain models of the Acura TLX and Acura MDX.
According to the NHTSA, the recall for all the affected vehicles is due to a fault in the brake pedal pivot pin, which could cause "the pedal to shift out of position" and prevent the driver from applying the brakes as intended, increasing the risk of a crash.
Owners of impacted vehicles are expected to be mailed July 28, according to the recall. Dealers will also inspect and replace the brake pedal assembly if needed, free of charge.
