- Fernando Alonso’s new Zonda Diamante Verde is clad in exposed carbon fiber.
- One-off Zonda 760 models like these are selling for over $10 million a pop.
- Fellow F1 superstar Lewis Hamilton also owned a custom Pagani Zonda.
Perhaps looking for a way to distract himself from Aston Martin’s horrible run of performances in Formula 1, racing great Fernando Alonso has just splashed millions of dollars on one of the most striking Pagani Zondas ever built, the one-off Diamante Verde.
The Spaniard took delivery of the bespoke Zonda several weeks ago in Monaco, where he owns a property and lives for parts of the year. The Zonda Diamante Verde had been sitting in the inventory of German company Mechatronik since at least 2024, just waiting to be snapped up by a wealthy buyer.

No asking price was ever made public for the car, nor has Mechatronik revealed how much Alonso paid for it. However, one-off Zonda 760 series models like this are trading hands for over $10 million, which gives us a rough idea of what it was sold for. Currently earning roughly $20 million a year racing for Aston Martin, he may have picked up this Pagani for a little over six months of work.
Alonso Joins Hamilton
Fernando Alonso isn’t the only Formula 1 driver to have owned a Zonda. Fellow F1 veteran Lewis Hamilton famously commissioned the one-off Zonda 760LH more than a decade ago, and at the time, it was just the second 760 model that Pagani built. After roughly seven years of ownership, Hamilton sold the car in late 2021.
Unlike the 760LH, the Zonda Diamante Verde is a Roadster with a fully exposed carbon-fiber body. Unlike any other exposed carbon Zonda built, this one has green metallic flakes incorporated into the carbon. It also features several green accents, including the front bumper, wheel arches, and rear wing endplates.
Compared to the F1 car that Alonso is used to driving, his new Zonda has twice as many cylinders and almost five times the capacity, thanks to its 7.3-liter naturally-aspirated V12 from AMG.
