► Best-seller gains new hybrid setup for 2026
► New entry-level trim brings prices under £30k
► New ‘blacked-out’ grade also joins line-up
The Jaecoo 7 has had its first significant update since the Chinese firm launched in the UK, gaining a new hybrid powertrain and lower pricing for 2026.
Since its debut in the UK in January 2025, Jaecoo has been a huge success story, with its Range Rover-esque styling going down a treat with British buyers. For the majority of 2025, its only model was the Jaecoo 7, which clocked up more than 28,000 registrations last year.
Things are looking similarly positive in 2026, as year to date it’s the third-best-selling car, ahead of well-loved models such as the Vauxhall Corsa and Nissan Qashqai.
Priced from £29,195, it costs £1,000 less than the cheapest higher-spec petrol model, though standard equipment still includes a 13.2-inch touchscreen, dual-zone climate control and front parking sensors.
A Deluxe grade brings eco-leather upholstery, a larger 14.8-inch touchscreen and upgraded sound system for a £32,795 starting price. The same trim on the petrol variant costs from £30,115.
The other change for 2026 is a new top-spec Black Luxury grade, only available on the plug-in hybrid variant. Costing from £36,500 (a £1,335 premium over the standard PHEV), it brings a blacked-out design thanks to a black grille, black roof and black badging, as well as a black headlining inside.
Victor Zhang, managing director of Jaecoo UK, said: “After such a strong first year, it’s crucial that we keep evolving. The new Black Luxury model gives our customers even more visual impact and exclusivity, while the full-hybrid SHS-H opens up electrified performance at an extremely competitive price point.
‘Together, these new additions reaffirm our commitment to giving UK drivers more choice, more value, and more of what they want from a modern SUV.”
