For reference, the rival Kia Sportage Hybrid is priced from £34,475. Its uses a 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine and a single electric motor for 145bhp, a 0-62mph time of 7.9sec, 50.4mpg and emissions of 126g/km.
The new 7 SHS-H is available in two trim levels, Pure and Deluxe. The former gets tweed upholstery, a 13.2in infotainment touchscreen, dual-zone climate control and a six-speaker sound system, among other kit. The latter, priced from £32,795, adds faux-leather upholstery, expands the touchscreen to 14.2in and adds an extra two speakers.
