NASCAR driver Alex Bowman will miss the race in Las Vegas

NASCAR driver Alex Bowman will miss the race this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Justin Allgaier will drive the N0. 48 car.

Alex Bowman suffered from a sudden vertigo symptom during the race at COTA two weeks ago. That has been ongoing since and he was forced to sit out Sunday’s race at Phoenix Raceway.

Now, he’ll also miss this weekend’s race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Anthony Alfredo was the reserve pilot at Phoenix. This week, Justin Allgaier has been selected as the reserve driver for Las Vegas.

“Alex continues to work closely with doctors toward being medically cleared, but he’s still experiencing some lingering symptoms,” said Jeff Andrews, president and general manager of Hendrick Motorsports.

“He’s put a lot into the recovery process, and we will continue to support him every step of the way. Our priority remains making sure Alex is fully ready before returning to the race car.”

Allgaier is the 2024 NASCAR O’Reilly Series champion. He picked up the race in last year’s O’Reilly race at Las Vegas while driving for JR Motorsports.
