21 riders, 11 Tuk-Tuks, two laps of Buriram. Enjoy the show in all its glory
As Grand Prix Sunday got in gear, the Thai GP rider parade got a new look with some local flavour: the TukTuk challenge. Each MotoGP team had one Tuk-Tuk, with a driver position and one seat behind. A Warm Up lap with a driver change at Turn 4 got them familiar with the ropes. And then the lights went out for what was technically not a race.
Even on the grid before setting off on the WU lap, Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP had one rider standing on the back to pull off a wheelie. Attempted burnouts, some interesting lines and a true commitment to the quick switch of the driver change made for a spectacle – and if you think Saturday’s Tissot Sprint was controversial, wait until you see Aprilia Racing vs Ducati Lenovo Team at the final corner in this.
Despite the commitment to showmanship from the very first metres, it was Miller and Razgatliouglu who crossed the line ahead to take the first win of the day. Enjoy the full show below!
