NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski has surgery after skiing incident

The recovery process began immediately as the 2026 season was just weeks away.

RFK Racing co-owner and driver of the No. 6 car elected to set out last week’s event at Bowman Gray Stadium. Corey LaJoie was signed to fill the No. 6 seat for that one race.

He was on-track for a test today at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Keselowski always intended to be ready for Daytona. And now, he confirms that he’s been cleared by NASCAR medical.

The driver also previously stated that he didn’t update his NASCAR license. That also appears to be cleared for his return.

Brad Keselowski doesn’t have a current NASCAR license

“Eight weeks ago, I broke my leg,” Brad Keselowski opened in the video posted below.

“There were a lot of questions and a lot of uncertainty. Every day since then, I’ve been focused on one thing. Getting back in my race car.”

“Rehab isn’t glamorous. It’s long days, lots of pain and relearning movements you never thought you didn’t know.”

“The Daytona 500 matters. This season matters. My team matters. And I wasn’t going to watch it from the sidelines.”

“Today, I was cleared to race. I’m back. See you in Daytona.”

The 41-year-old hasn’t won the Daytona 500. He did pick up a July win at Daytona back in 2016.

The 2026 season begins on Wednesday with the first round of practice for the Daytona 500. The green flag will drop on the race Sunday, February 15th.
