Brayton Laster ran full-time in the ARCA Menards Series during the 2025 season. This week, he was strapped in and ready for his first Chili Bowl Nationals attempt.
Just ahead of his preliminary night debut, officials have requested that Laster not race tonight. In the statement below, Laster stated that officials noted “safety concerns” but he did not elaborate.
Fans are speculating that Laster might have been too tall for the cockpit. Images show Laster in the car, dangerously close to the roof of the cage.
“I’m saddened to announce that I will NOT be participating in this year’s Chili Bowl Nationals due to safety concerns,” Brayton Laster stated via social media.

“At this time, following concerns from Chili Bowl officials and other members of the garage, I have been asked to sit out of driving the #06 entry for safety reasons.”
“The #06 K.C. Arborist Tree Care entry will still race this evening with a different drivers announced later this morning. All of our sponsor will remain on the car, and I will still be representing all of my partners to the best of my ability off track through my social media pages.”
